“THE FIRST” Madame Vice President Kamala Harris and Poet Amanda Gorman

History made today in the life of America for brown and black people to witness the first woman of color be affirmed as the 49th Vice President of the United States. The moment she stood at the podium and laid her hands on those two Bibles emotions started to overwhelm my very existence as a black man.  Vice President Harris on national television represented my great grandmother, my grandmother, my mother and my ancestral DNA that we are truly a remarkable people.

It is a new day in America and I can sense the change of this new world regime.

The magic of black girls and women is simply brilliance personified. Salute to my sister, the youngest poet to appear during a Presidential Inauguration, Amanda Gorman. She recited with such grace and poise, “The Hill We Climb.”
